Chief Business Officer

Catherine is the Chief Business Officer at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, where she manages M&A, business development, business operations, and strategic projects to grow the company’s revenue. She was previously at Facebook, where she helped launch the Ad Tech business unit and led the long-range planning process; Random House, where she helped the company transition from selling physical to digital books; and McKinsey, where she was a strategy consultant in New York City.

She received an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a BA from Yale University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was the recipient of the Hilgendorf Fellowship. She currently lives in San Francisco, CA, and serves as an advisor to several start-ups in the technology and media sectors.
